In Roman-ruled Celtic Britain, a young Roman soldier endeavours to honour his father's memory by finding the legion's golden emblem. Directed by Academy Award winner Kevin Macdonald and produced by Duncan Kenworthy.
Music is by Atli Orvarsson with Flaithrí and Eoghan collaborating, indeed, one track The Return of the Eagle was arranged by the brothers from a traditional piece with fiddle, pipes and low whistles.

Eoghan, coming from an Irish traditional music background, initiates unique musical projects by working with musicians from alternative musical backgrounds to his own. Anxo is from a small village on the Atlantic Coast of Galicia. more

The Eagle of the Ninth : In Roman-ruled Britain, a young Roman soldier endeavors to honor his father's memory by finding his lost legion's golden emblem. Adapted from the book by Rosemary Sutcliff, Directed by Kevin Macdonald and Icelandic music composer Atli Orvarsson will create the music for the film - Flaithrí and Eoghan are collaborating at the moment.

"In early 2006, while completing my Master's thesis on improvisation, I approached Cyprian to form a practical contribution to my investigation. What followed were three additional meetings in the peaceful and angelic setting of Glenstal Abbey. This disc represents the result of our music-making during that time, with each selected piece presented in its original entirety." Eoghan. more

"Partholón" : Flaithrí's composition recounts the gripping story of a mythological Sicilian prince in the ancient Irish text, LEBOR GABÁLA ÉRENN (The Book of Invasions). The 9-minute piece will function as a portal to a much larger work in progress for 2010. Performed with The Cork Youth Orchestra under the direction of Tomás McCarthy, Cork City Hall, April 25th, 2009. more

Eoghan received the first British Forum for Ethnomusicology Award for the best postgraduate paper presented at the BFE annual conference, hosted by Newcastle University, UK (19-21 April, 2007). Eoghan’s paper was entitled ‘Different Histories: Aural and Literate Representations of Banish Misfortune’, concerning two distinctive readings of Irish music history based upon a critical examination of extant musical scores and sound recordings. more

A very enjoyable weekend at the Cork Folk Festival had Flaithrí and Eoghan performing with Brian Hanlon and Ronan Ryan in the Long Valley for a night of great dualing music. The following night it was concert mode in the newly built Ceol Scoil Chorcaí (Cork School of Music) where the performance was with Brian during the Mike McGoldrick concert.

When artists are pegged into specific musical categories, all too often they are creatively restrained and not allowed to think outside the box. Not so with Flaithrí and Eoghan Neff who have chosen to saddle up the true Irish tradition and ride over the many artificial constrains imposed on traditional musicians. more

Multi-award winning Neff Brothers grew up in county Cork in a family with a great love for Irish language, music and culture each is now developing their interests in research but still work together in music projects.more
